How Toothie Verifies Every Clinic
Patients often ask what "verified" actually means on Toothie. Here's exactly what happens before a clinic appears on the platform - in plain terms, not marketing language.
Clinics apply to partner
Every clinic on Toothie starts the same way: they apply. A clinic (or their office manager) submits their clinic name, contact person, phone number, and email through our partner form. Our team follows up directly to discuss the partnership before anything goes live.
Our team reviews the clinic and signs a partnership agreement
Before a clinic is shown to patients, our team reviews the application and the clinic agrees to Toothie's clinic Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We track this internally with a signed partnership agreement, and a clinic only appears in Toothie's public search results once that agreement is in place.
We build their profile and start tracking their rating
Our team adds the clinic's profile - address, contact details, languages spoken, and accepted insurance (including whether they take CDCP) - along with a rating. After each appointment booked through Toothie, we invite the patient to leave a review, and completed bookings are tagged as a "Verified Booking" so ratings reflect real patients who were actually seen, not anonymous reviews.
What this is - and isn't
To be specific: this is a partnership review, not a government license lookup or an in-person site inspection. Dentists and dental clinics in Canada are already licensed and regulated by their provincial dental regulatory college - if you want to confirm a specific dentist's license status yourself, that's the place to check.
What Toothie adds on top is a reviewed partnership, a signed agreement before a clinic ever appears to patients, and ongoing tracking of how each clinic performs with real, Toothie-booked patients.
After a clinic joins
Once live, we keep track of booking activity and completed visits at each clinic, alongside their rating and patient reviews. Clinics that don't maintain a good patient experience can be removed from the platform - being listed on Toothie isn't a one-time check, it's an ongoing partnership.
